Amherst Community Kirtan Summer Festival

July 15th, 2 to 8PM

374 Old Montague Rd. Amherst, MA

Join us for a day to celebrate the beauty and sacredness of life and the One Divine that creates it all anew in each moment. This all-ages event is open to the public, and tickets are available by donation, with 100% of ticket sales (minus the processing fee) going to the Amherst Survival Center.

Kirtan is a yogic practice of singing together, chanting mantras that resound with joy, devotion, and honoring. It is broadly accessible, and comes from a tradition of folk music that invites anyone to join, regardless of musical training or ability.

A draft schedule for the day is listed below, and we’re so excited to announce the headline performance will be David Newman and his amazing kirtan band! David just released his 12th album called “The Beloveds,” and you can find it on iTunes and all the major music sourcing sites. His live kirtans are sweet, danceable, and full of soul. Find out more about David at

We’ll also have food vendors, henna art, hula hooping, and activities for kids. Bring your own drum for the open kirtan jam drum and dance circles!
